As all of you know by my obnoxious amount of posts last weekend, it was my 23rd birthday! If you follow me on Instagram or Snapchat, I apologize for bombarding your feeds with my celebrations. I have always been a big birthday person and love celebrating birthdays, and don’t worry, I love celebrating other people’s birthdays as much as I love celebrating my own. I threw my boyfriend a surprise 25th birthday last month and it was the highlight of my month. Seeing his face when he saw all of his friends made me so happy. My parents have always made my birthdays so special and I have kept the tradition going! I’ll be sharing everything we did over the weekend, where we stayed, ate, and what I am looking forward to now that I am 23! You can shop all of my outfits by simply clicking on the desired image where you may purchase the item(s).

We started the birthday celebration off with my favorite champagne-Chandon. We made mimosas with frozen raspberries and it was SO yummy! We also went to breakfast at my favorite breakfast restaurant called Snooze. I got the eggs benedict and it did not disappoint, like usual.

We then spent the day at the lazy river and the villas pool, which was so relaxing. It wasn’t too hot and the monsoons surprisingly didn’t roll through that day. I had been looking forward to lounging by the pool all week and it was absolutely perfect.

We then went to dinner at Sapporo with friends and had the best time! I had never been to Sapporo and I wasn’t disappointed. We got the lobster potstickers and two different kinds of sushi rolls, everything was beyond amazing! I also loved the atmosphere there. We then went back to the villas and ordered dessert from the Westin room service. We got a flourless chocolate cake and cheesecake with berries on the side. I am a huge sweets person and I wish I could’ve eaten all of the dessert because it was amazing.

We spent the last day of our staycation by the pool and we were both so sad to leave. We left with stuffed bellies, tan skin, and a weekend full of celebrating!

What I look forward to now that I’m 23:

  1. Growing my blog and meeting more new, amazing people. I started my blog about 8 months ago and it has brought me so much joy. I have connected with SO many amazing people, brands, and companies and I cannot wait to continue connecting with more people. I have learned so much from other bloggers and have learned so much about myself throughout this process.
  2. I look forward to staying in Arizona and living close to my parents. My parents are my support system and I love spending quality time with them.
  3. My boyfriend and I just signed a lease to my dream apartment and I am so excited to move there together. I am looking forward to decorating and making the apartment as homey and cozy as possible.
  4. I absolutely love my job and I look forward to continue growing and learning in my new position. I also look forward to gaining knowledge form my colleagues and pursuing my dreams.
  5. Finally, I look forward to becoming the healthiest and happiest version of myself. I just joined Orange Theory after work today and I am so excited to get back in shape and reach my fitness goals. Being healthy directly correlates with being happy and I always feel happiest when I feel healthy. I also look forward to building new relationships, building my relationship with Jesus, spending more time outdoors, and embracing whatever is thrown my way!

Happy Tuesday!!

I hope you all had an amazing weekend and a fabulous Monday. I had the most amazing weekend celebrating my 23rd birthday with my boyfriend, friends, and family. I will be sharing everything we did over the weekend and all of the details from our staycation this week, stay tuned! Today I went to a leadership retreat for week and it was amazing. I truly feel so inspired and motivated to be the best version of myself every single day at work. I think it is so important to find a career you are passionate about and inspire others to be passionate about it as well. I am so thankful to absolutely love my first job out of college. My colleagues inspire me, my clients inspire me, and I feel appreciated on a daily basis. Feeling appreciated in the workplace is SO important and if you don’t feel appreciated, you often burn out and lose the fire you once had for your job.

Since I am sharing my passion for my job, I wanted to share three ways to spice up your work attire. I know we sometimes get in the habit of wearing the same few outfits to work everyday and while that can be great, it’s also important to change up our routines and step outside of our daily habits. I did this last week and wore three new outfits to work, which I was nervous about at first, but I received so many compliments! It’s oftentimes scary to step outside of our comfort zones and try something new, but I highly encourage trying something new and stepping outside of your comfort zone, especially with clothing. Everyone dresses in neutral colors where I work and I took a bold step, tried something new, and now I have seen colleagues (both men & women) wearing brighter colors and new shirts this week!

Here are three ways to spice up your work look:

1. An oversized tote

Most people use briefcases for their paperwork, laptop, etc. and I am trying something new by using an oversized tote for work. I love how much style this simple item has added to my work look and it fits everything I could possibly need during the day. I also love how I can use the same bag as my purse when I go out to lunch or run errands and don’t have to lug around a briefcase. 2. Bold sleeves and a statement necklace

Bold sleeves are always my go-to when picking out work attire. I love how much detail sleeves can add to a top and create a flattering look for both the arms and torso. Even though I’m wearing all black, the sleeves create a fun look and add character to an otherwise boring outfit. To also accentuate this outfit, I added my favorite statement necklace. This necklace is under $15 and makes the perfect accessory for every occasion! 3. Bright, colorful stripes

Bright stripes always spice up any outfit, but they especially spice up work attire. If you work in an office where neutral colors are worn my everyone (like my job) then bright stripes will really spice up your work attire. Since no one wears bright colors too often, I receive so many compliments when I wear bright colors! Bright colors also brighten my mood immediately when i put them on because my brain is trained to love bright colors and fun patterns. I also always feel more confident when I wear brighter colors instead of wearing neutral colors because I know I stand out and oftentimes feel as if that makes me more approachable. Happy Wednesday!!

We are officially halfway through the week, yay!! It’s my birthday week and my actual birthday is this Saturday, which means I am extra excited for the weekend. I will be twenty-three this weekend and I cannot believe it, time sure does fly.

Today I am sharing a review of Rocksbox and my thoughts on this subscription. I have been a Rocksbox member for the past three months and I have absolutely LOVED it. I am a huge fan of jewelry, I just have a difficult time picking out pieces I like and pieces that match my style. This subscription is amazing because when you first sign up, you are given a stylist and the stylist matches pieces to best fit your personal style. The stylist matches pieces to your style by looking at the wish list completely customized by you. When I completed my wish list, I selected my favorite pieces, which then allowed my stylist to gain an understanding of the jewelry I wanted to see in my Rocksbox.

During my time using Rocksbox, I received so many cute pieces and loved being able to try out different styles and trade the pieces out for new ones. I was so shocked when I got my first Rocksbox because this company doesn’t miss any details. The box came with the cutest pink bow and all of my jewelry was individually packaged and all of the jewelry was wrapped in the cutest wrapping paper. The box also comes with a personalized note with info about Rocksbox and the items inside of the box.

I am a huge fan of Kendra Scott and Kate Spade, which I got in all of my boxes! My last box was my absolute favorite and I ended up purchasing the Kendra Scott Elton bracelet in rose gold. I had been wanting that bracelet and having it sent to my house in my Rocksbox was the perfect time to purchase it. I have already worn it to work and cannot wait to style the bracelet with other outfits. My all time favorite part about this subscription is if you have a special event coming up, you can let your stylist know and the stylist will send you pieces specifically for the event so you don’t have to go searching for the perfect jewelry to match your outfit, how amazing is that?!

If you have been searching for a jewelry subscription, this is the one for you! I linked all of the items I received at the end of the post. If you see anything you love, simply click on the image where you will then be redirected to a page to shop the item(s). A huge thank you to the stylists at Rocksbox and everyone I worked with during my Rocksbox trial, I cannot wait to continue using this amazing subscription!

Happy Wednesday!!

I thought I would do something a little different this week for a little mid-week fun! Over the weekend, I realized that I’m always talking about clothes, traveling, beauty products, etc. and haven’t actually shared too much info about myself. I thought it would be fun to sort of re-introduce myself and share ten fun facts about me. I recently asked people to DM me questions they had for this post on my Instagram and received some amazing questions! Thank you to those who asked questions, I can’t wait to share them with you. I hope you all enjoy this post and as always, if you have questions, feel free to DM me, comment on my posts, or email me. This look is also shoppable via the liketoknow.it app by typing in sandytoesandsaltyhairblog in the search bar.

  1. I grew up in Sedona, Arizona and graduated high school from Boulder Creek High School in Anthem, Arizona.
  2. I went to THREE universities during my college career (I’m indecisive, I know) and loved all of the schools I went to. I graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Public Health and a minor in Biology (I’m a nerd).
  3. I currently work at my local health department, where I interned during my last semester of college and was hired right after my internship ended, yay! I do mostly data entry, interviews for disease investigations, and create reports for the public.
  4. I have been dating my boyfriend for over a year and a half and we met in college at a bar, so classy. My roommate introduced us and even though it took him a while to finally text me and ask me on a date (I hope you’re reading this, Charlie), we hit it off right away and the rest is history! He takes 95% of the pictures seen on my blog so I owe him everything. He makes me the happiest girl in the world and I’m so thankful to be journeying through life with him by my side.
  5. I am an only child and have the most amazing parents in the world. I wouldn’t be where I am or experienced the things I’ve experienced without their love and support. They push me to reach for the stars and always catch me when I fall.
  6. I love to travel and visit new places, but I’m also a homebody and there is nowhere I’d rather be than snuggled up with a cozy blanket while watching Disney movies.
  7. Brunch is my favorite meal and I would brunch every single day if my lifestyle allowed me to do so. Anyone who knows me knows I love coffee and champagne, so brunch is kind of my thing.
  8. I started my blog January of 2017 and blogging has brought me so much fulfillment and joy these past seven months.
  9. If I could vacation anywhere in the world, I would go to Bora Bora. I love the clear blue water and bungalows suspended above the ocean. I’ve wanted to go since I was a little girl and hope to visit someday!
  10. I love spending as much time as possible outdoors! I love being at the lake, hiking, kayaking, reading books on my balcony, and outdoor walks. I try to do most of my exercising outside because I love the fresh air and scenery.

Happy Monday!!

I hope you all had an amazing weekend. My boyfriend and I went to LA for the weekend to visit his family and had so much fun. We went to two baseball games and also got to spend time with friends, it was such a great time. I needed a little weekend getaway after a week long work conference last week!

Today I am sharing my favorite white summer dress from Dainty Hooligan and it is my favorite summer outfit! I love wearing simple, lightweight pieces during the hot summer months, especially in Phoenix. I paired this dress with my favorite floppy hat and my go-to Tory Burch sandals. I also paired the outfit with pearl stud earrings and my new bag from Nordstrom (it’s under $50). This dress makes the perfect outfit for strolling the city, especially during the spring and summer. I brought this dress with me to NYC last summer and wore it to brunch and Central Park, I got so many compliments and it was so comfy! The thin straps and open back add the perfect details to this simple dress. Shop this look at the end of the post.
